Nice warm weather and a nice east wind were bringing us to Porto on the river Douro. Besides all the pictures from the people on board I was making some snapshots from the environment.
Evening of the 06.08.2009: a call, a possibility that I took and 12 hours later on the way to Côte d’Azur. Then on the morning of the 08.08.2009 we meet the owner of the yacht in Toulon and went to the pier. One hour later we were heading on “Queen Nefretiti” course to Corsica. Definitely this was the highlight for 2009 and I want to thank once more the owner, Pedro and also Dany and Lilo for this great time.
Our trip:
08.08.2009 Toulon – Ile de Porquerolles
09.08.2009 Ile de Porquerolles – Golfe de Calvi
10.08.2009 Golfe de Calvi – Golfe Girolata
11.08.2009 Golfe Girolata – Porto
12.08.2009 Porto – Anse de la Foata
13.08.2009 Anse de la Foata – Calvi
Four very nice days and nights in Baiona and the surrounding Cíes islands with their untouched natural ambiance.
Our goal: the harbor of Portimão

The boat: Moscatel

First day: Póvoa to Figueira da Foz:

Arrival at night:

Second day Figueira da Foz to Cascais:

Third day in Cascais:

Some crazy guys waiting for less wind:

Little break for refuelling? Well the boat was standing there at least for three hours…

A real nice classic sailing yacht:

Any idea about the use of this boat? Sorry, me neither. //Thanks to Script-Kiddie for the information: it is a hydrofoil glass bottom boat

Tickled Pink, the bigest boat in Cascais (base price of the Sunseeker 37M is 10 million €)

Well, small boats can be sometimes also interesting ![]()

Third and fourth day: Cascais to Portimão
Leaving Cascais:

Sundown at approx. 10 p.m.:

Some dolphins appeared in the night, it was not possible to make pictures, but it was incredible: Long before you would see them during the day you saw a white line in the water. I was counting twelve dolphins in total.
Navigation instruments:

Sunset at approx. 6 a.m.:

Shift change:

Cabo de São Vicente, near to Sagres:

Finally: the coast of the Algarve

In the river Arade of Portimão:

Just relaxing a bit with a nice cocktail:

Small panorama of the bar:

Standard genoa 3 supported by spinnaker boom, main sail prepared for regatta with kevlar sail:

Not much to do, so time for replacing the old flag of the club:
